We bring the bar to you!
Bootleggers came about as most things do, by accident. Our family has always looked at junk differently than most. The Little Gypsy is an assortment of random items that were on their way to the junkyard.
The first and most interesting piece is the bars decorative headboard which was found by one of my wife's friends under an old log home north of Harbor Springs and became the inspiration for the beer cart. Then came the beadboard which was salvaged from a 110 year old home located in Wequetonsing that was being torn down. The green beadboard are the original exterior shutters they used to board up the home for the winter seasons. The natural stained beadboard was lining the walls of the servants quarters in the garage. After a full afternoon of sweat we were able to retrieve the items one day before the house was bulldozed down and taken to the dump. The main bar and servicing counter came from another of my wife's friends. It was from a crate from Italy which was being tossed away. The decking and misc lumber came from my son's home which at one time was a bird sanctuary which cared for hurt birds. The wheels and axle are from a 1930-31 Ford Model A, which someone had made into a utility trailer . This was purchased in Rockford, Michigan and was hauled up to our shop.
Put the love of old odd things and the love of a good cold beer together and this is what you get! We hope you enjoy the finished product as much as we enjoyed seeing it evolve into something that confirms that the old quote is true.
one man's junk is another man's treasure
